Mattie Renee Dean, 21, of Milan, Missouri, was taken from this earth too soon on Thursday, May 13, 2021, in her home. Mattie was born July 21, 1999 at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri. Mattie was a mother to two beautiful children; Elijah James, 2, and Aaliyah Olivia, 9 months.
Mattie attended Chillicothe High School, Chillicothe, Missouri. She had a beautiful soul and an infectious laugh. She was our unicorn.
Mattie is survived by her two children; Elijah and Aaliyah; mother and father, Valerie and James Slatton, Chillicothe, Missouri; sisters, Liriel and fiancée Michael Dale, Chillicothe, Missouri, and Suzzanne and husband Hayden Hibner, Chillicothe, Missouri; aunts, Riannon Crandell, Brookfield, Missouri, and Amanda McKay, Holts Summit, Missouri; grandparents, Patricia Wise, Brookfield, Missouri, Johnnie Rafferty, El Dorado Springs, Missouri, and Cheryl Campbell, Lathrop, Missouri; great-grandmother, Valjean Zimmerman, Purdin, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Traceson Moss and Madden and Oaklee Hibner, all of Chillicothe, Missouri; cousins, Alizabeth and Jaxson McKay, Holts Summit, Missouri, and Kaedence and Felicia McCollum, Brookfield, Missouri; and many others who will miss her dearly.
