Mary Lou Sterling Mary Lou Sterling, age 78, a resident of Trenton, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. Mary was born the daughter of Arthur Lincoln and Velma Josephine (Courtney) Cunningham on April 13, 1938, at home in Galt, Missouri. She was a 1956 graduate of Pattonsburg High School, Pattonsburg, Missouri. She married Kenneth "Buck" Sterling, to this union two daughters were born. Mary operated a dairy farm in Modena and Half Rock, Missouri for many years. She then worked in laundry and the kitchen at Eastview Manor, Trenton, Missouri. She loved reading, doing puzzles, and watching soap operas. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Ellen Sterling of the home, and Kristina Elaine Washburn and husband David of Trenton, Missouri; two grandchildren, Samantha Jo Washburn of St. Louis, Missouri, and Jennie Marie Washburn of Trenton, Missouri; one sister Pam Govig of Trenton, Missouri; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Willa Stevens, Ethel Keith, Helen Thompson, Ruth Brown, and Glenda Townsend. Graveside services will be held at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Missouri, on Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation.
