Mary Frances Smith
Mary Frances Smith, age 90, of Leon, Iowa, and former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, entered her heavenly home on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Decatur County Hospital, Leon, Iowa.
Mary was born the daughter of Sam and Ruth (Munden) Jones on November 4, 1931, in Avalon, Missouri. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. Mary was united in marriage to Eldon Francis Smith on March 2, 1952, in Carrollton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1992. She worked as a Med Tech at Morningside Center in Chillicothe, Missouri, for over 20 years. She was a member of Leon Bible Church, Leon, Iowa. She was a former member of Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Mary was a Godly woman, serving her Lord and her church faithfully, and was a dedicated Pastor's wife. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Meal Site. She also enjoyed reading. Mary dearly loved her family, they were her whole life. She enjoyed keeping up with the activities of her children and grandchildren. She had a sharp mind, and stayed up on all of the current events of her family.
Survivors include two sons, Gary Smith and wife Andrea of St. Clair Shores, Michigan, and Kevin Smith and wife Tammy of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters, Linda Owens and husband Will of Kearney, Missouri, and Sheryl Easton of Leon, Iowa; twelve grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eldon Francis Smith; one infant son, Larry Smith; one son-in-law, Dale Easton; one grandson, Nicholas Easton; three brothers, Roy Jones, John M. Jones, and Gomer Earl Jones; and two sisters, Nancy Hutcherson and Annie Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, April 4, 2022, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Braden Cemetery, Coloma, Missouri.
