Mary Jo Smiley

Mary Jo Smiley, age 77, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Mary Jo was born the daughter of William Harold and Mary Irene (Singleton) Watson in Wheeling, Missouri on August 20, 1934. She was a 1952 Wheeling High School graduate and was a member of the Olive Branch Baptist Church. She was united in marriage to Merle Smiley on June 15, 1952 in Wheeling, Missouri. He preceded her in death on March 25, 2003. She worked as an office nurse for Dr. Roger Fraser for 24 years. Mary spent all of her life in Wheeling and Chillicothe area. Mary Jo is survived by one daughter, Susan Smiley of Chillicothe, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merle Smiley, infant son, Gary Merle Smiley, infant daughter, Sandra Lea Smiley, daughter Donna Fish on January 14, 2008, one nephew Jim Smiley, and one great nephew, Andrew Wohlford. Services will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
