Mary Susan Reeter
Mary Susan Reeter age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, Missouri.
Susan was born the daughter of Samuel and Leona (Ott) Gibson on May 1, 1928 in Livingston County Missouri. She was a graduate of Lock Springs High School. On May 3, 1957 Susan was united in marriage to Leo Junior Reeter in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded Susan in death on July 21, 1992.
Susan was employed at Boss and Lambert Glove for many years. She was an active member of the Chillicothe Calvary Baptist Church where she worked in the children's department as a Sunday School teacher and served on the church meal committee. Susan enjoyed serving her community through volunteer work, including Meals on Wheels and Joy Toys. She was gifted at sewing, quilting, gardening, and was an excellent cook, always hosting delicious meals for family and friends.
Susan is survived by her daughter Sherry Jones of Dawn, Missouri; two grandchildren, Tyler Jones and wife Caitlin of Dawn, Missouri, and Meredith Lange and husband Dylan of Dawn, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Collins and Colter Lange and Leo Jones. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Charlotte Bashford of Sarasota, Florida, Dixie Reeter of Cameron, Missouri and Nancy Reeter of Dawn, Missouri and one brother-in-law, Virgil Reeter of Jamesport, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husband Junior, son-in-law Charles David Jones, and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. A scheduled visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Tuesday, June 14, 2022 from Noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Lock Springs Cemetery.
