Mary Margaret Morris

Mary Margaret Morris Mary Margaret Morris, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Mary was born the daughter of H.B. and Mina (Molloy) McCoy on November 14, 1921 in Chula, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Vernon "Red" Morris on May 3, 1941 in Linneus, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 1, 1993. She worked in New York in a defense plant in 1942-1943 where she was an inspector for signal parachutes and radar. Mary and her husband then moved back to Missouri when she became a homemaker on the farm. Mary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe, Missouri, American Legion Vern Glick Post #25 Women's Auxiliary, and the Hedrick Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed making quilts and creating pictures with crewel embroidery. Survivors include one sister, Carolyn Gall of Purdin, Missouri; one brother in-law, Bill Morris and wife Crystle of Brookfield, Missouri; one sister in-law Virginia Morris of Brookfield, Missouri; four nephews, Bill Morris and wife Sandi of Brookfield, Missouri, Tom Morris and wife Debbie of Brookfield, Missouri, Larry Moore of Gladstone, Missouri, Bob Gall of Warsaw, Missouri; three nieces, Janet Shanks and husband Gary of Kearney, Missouri, Brenda Gall of Brookfield, Missouri, and Sue Ewing of Brookfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband "Red"; sister Lucille Elliott; brother Raymond McCoy; two nephews, Jody Morris, and Tom Shiflett; niece Marilyn Couch; two sister in-laws, Lorene Shiflett and Oletha Wood; and two brother in-laws, Buddy Gall and James Morris. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 1:00p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, one hour prior to the service from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
