Mary Wilma James, age 95, a resident of Independence, Missouri, formerly of Braymer, passed away at her residence on Friday, April 15, 2011. She was born on January 30, 1916 the daughter of Miles and Ethel Zumbrunnen in Braymer, Missouri. On October 24, 1933 she was married to Melbourne James in Cowgill, Missouri and was married 52 years. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1985. They lived in the Braymer area then later moved to Kansas City, Missouri. Survivors include, four daughters Doris Stroup of Braymer, Missouri, De Aun Wilkie and husband Dean of North Kansas City, Laura Dalton of Independence, Missouri, and Brenda Williams and husband Gene of Independence, Missouri; one son Buddy James and wife Cecilia of Denver, Missouri; two sisters, Laura Nell Kelly of Braymer, Missouri, and Laveta Webb of Climax Springs, Missouri; and one brother, Donald Zumbrunnen of Raytown, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great- great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Melbourne, one sister Mildred; and brothers, Clyde, Miles Jr., John Thomas (JT), Robert (Bob) Zumbrunnen; three son-in-laws, Don Anderson, Jack Dalton, and Jake Stroup; and one great grandson Jacob Moyer.
