Mary "Kathryn" Hughes Mary Kathryn Hughes, age 84, a resident of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Life Care Center of Carrollton, Carrollton, Missouri. On June 10, 1927 Mary Kathryn was born the daughter of Fred and Ruth (Smart) Johnson in Carroll County, Missouri. On May 17, 1946 she married Frances "Tootie" Hughes. He preceded her in death on October 21, 1990. Kathryn was 1946 graduate of Carrollton High School. Kathryn was an avid bowler and enjoyed working with the Carrollton PTA and the Carroll County Historical Society. She is survived by two sons Norman Hughes and wife Brenda of Blue Springs, Missouri, Bill Hughes and wife Robin of Carrollton, Missouri; one daughter Dixie Willis of Carrollton, Missouri; seven grandchildren; thirteen Great-Grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces nephews and cousins. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents; one son Carl Hughes; and two sisters Lucille and Louise. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery Carrollton, Missouri. There will be no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 12 noon until 9:00 P.M. and on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 from 8:00 A.M. Until 12 Noon. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O. Box 47 Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
