Mary Crookshanks

Mary S. Crookshanks Mary Crookshanks, age 93, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at her residence. Mary was born the daughter of Charles and Edna (Gay) Dayton on September 28, 1919 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a Chillicothe High School graduate. Mary was united in marriage to William Floyd Crookshanks, on December 8, 1945, in Olathe, Kansas. He preceded her in death in August 1984. After they were married they moved to a farm in Browning, Missouri. In 1976 they returned to Chillicothe. Mary ran a daycare, she loved going on walks, visiting with friends, and flowers. She is survived by two sons, Bill Crookshanks, and wife Denise, of Aurora, Missouri, and Randy Crookshanks, and wife Cindy, of Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, Larry Dayton, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Russell Dayton, of Cameron, Missouri; one sister, Emma Ponclet, of Chillicothe, Missouri; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Edward Dayton, Charles Dayton, and Glen Dayton; five sisters, Millie Dayton, Elsie Hall, Nigel Siedel, Nora Shearer, and Garnet Whitacre. Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. There will be a family visitation on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
