Marion Jean Searcy

Marion Jean Searcy Marion Jean Searcy, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015, at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Chillicothe, Missouri. Marion was born the daughter of James Wallace and Lela Mae (Ishmael) Searcy on March 13, 1931, in Laredo, Missouri. She was a 1949 graduate of Laredo High School. Marion worked for the United States Postal Service and Collivers Grocery in Hale, Missouri, for many years. She also volunteered as a Teacher's Aide at Dewey Elementary School serving over 3,500 hours with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo, small crafts, puzzles, cards and board games with her grandchildren. Survivors include three sons, James Richard "Rick" Figg and wife Jonnie of Pittsburg, Missouri, Gail Duane Figg and Kat of Omaha, Nebraska, and Gene Figg of Carrollton, Missouri; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Russell Searcy of Galt, Missouri; and three sisters, Carolyn June Ricket of Chillicothe, Missouri, Evelyn Pauline McDaniel of Galt, Missouri, and Raymah Lee Smith of Galt, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Roberta Maxine Ishmael, Shirley Mae Eller and Jeanette Margaret Norman; and two brothers, Robert Junior Searcy and Gerald Dean Searcy. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Haseville Cemetery, Humphreys, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion Jean Searcy Memorial Fund to be used for the Learning Activity Fund at Dewey School and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
