Marilyn Sue Manning, age 74, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her residence.
Marilyn was born the daughter of Arthur D. and Mabel Helen (Cassidy) Fields on March 29, 1947, in Brookfield, Missouri. She was a 1965 graduate of Brookfield High School, Brookfield, Missouri. Marilyn was united in marriage to John W. Manning on October 28, 1967, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He survives of the home. Marilyn worked as a cosmetologist for many years. She was a member of the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri and St. Ann's Altar Society. Marilyn was active as a Girl Scout and 4-H Leader. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, John Manning of the home; one son, John C. Manning of Chillicothe, Missouri; two daughters, Mary Perry and husband, Mike of Chillicothe, Missouri and Catherine Manning of Kansas City, Missouri; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant brother.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban Catholic Church,  Chillicothe, Missouri on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the at 10:00 a.m. A Parish Rosary will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at the St. Columban Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Columban Catholic Church Restoration Fund and/or the St. Columban Catholic Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be left at www.lindleyfuneralhomes.com .
