Marilyn JoAnn (Jo) Adair
Marilyn JoAnn (Wetzel) Adair, of Rocklin, California passed away peacefully on May 3, 2023 after a brief illness and hospitalization at the age of 90. She spent her last waking hours with her two sons, Jeffrey Scott Adair and Todd Elliott Adair by her side. She was known to all family and friends as "Jo."
Jo was predeceased by her husband, Gary Lavern Adair; parents , Kenneth and Jewell Wetzel; as well as her brothers and sisters, Kenneth Dean Wetzel, Clara Delores (Wetzel) Walker, Gerald Bruce Wetzel, and Carole Madolyn (Wetzel) Silva. She is survived by her two sons, her son-in-law, Craig Kozlowski; grandchildren, Amy Donnice (Adair) Crosse and husband, Kirk Crosse, Zachary Connor Adair and three great grandchildren; Andrew David, Phillip Garrett and Gracie Donnean Crosse.
Jo was born on March 5, 1933 in Braymer, Missouri. She graduated from Braymer High School in 1951 and moved to California where she met and married her husband, Gary, on November 6, 1954. They made a home in Redwood City, California where both sons were born and then later moved to Lincoln, California. in 2000. Jo then moved to Rocklin, California in 2020.
After Gary's death in 2012, Jo worked as an Executive Assistant for many years, then worked for her son, Jeffrey, in his business in Menlo Park, California before moving and retiring to Lincoln, California. Jo was an avid golfer in earlier years and then an active member of PEO, Antique Club, Travel Club, Buncok, Hand & Foot groups and board games with her many friends. A wonderful mother, wife, sister and friend, she remained very active in her sons' lives over the years and traveled often.
A small celebration of life for close friends and family was held June 4, 2023 at Ansell Park Clubhouse, Rocklin. A family inurnment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 1:00p.m. Memorial contributions in Joann Adair's name may be made to Compassion Planet in Roseville, California, compassionplanet.org and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, PO Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri, 64601.
