Marie Opal (Thomas) Clevenger Marie Opal Clevenger, age 92, a resident of Polo, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri. Marie was born the daughter of Lloyd O. Thomas and Pearl (Key) Ellis on January 4, 1921, in Ames, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Frances Luell Clevenger on January 21, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on October 17, 2003. Marie worked as a machine operator for Lake City Arsenal for 15 years. She was a member of the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri. Marie was very active in the Cowgill Lions Club, and served as a past president. She also served as a board member of the Polo Nutrition Center. Marie loved playing cards, bingo, and bunko. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Clevenger and wife Gerry of Bradenton, Florida, and Thomas Clevenger and wife Marsha of Liberty, Missouri; two daughters, Ann Tanner and husband L.H. of Hardin, Missouri, and Carol Pettigrew of Ashland, Missouri; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one half-brother, Gover Ellis of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; and one half-sister, Roxie Clevenger of Norborne, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one granddaughter, Lori Ann Tanner. Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Baptist Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, May 13, 2013, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, May 13, 2012, from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Braymer, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Braymer Baptist Church and/or the Polo Baptist Church and/or the Polo Nutrition Center and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, P.O.
