Margaret Catherine Hamel Margaret Hamel, age 78, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Margaret was born in Desoto, Missouri, on November 5, 1934, one of thirteen children of Charles and Evelyn (Nahler) Hamel. Margaret came to Chillicothe in 1962. She was the first resident of Jenkins Townhouse. She was employed at Boss and Lambert glove factories for 36 years and Long Blum Retirement Home for 15 years. Margaret enjoyed visiting with people, friends and reminiscing about her past. She always had one of her many dogs by her side. She is survived by three sisters Delphine Beatte of Caseyville Illinois, Laurine of Kankakee, Illinois and Alta Masten of Pleaseanton California; and two brothers Elmer Hamel of Newbraunfels, Texas of and Clyde of Mississippi. Margaret is also survived by Barbara Baer, Alice Ferguson and Carole Jenkins of Chillicothe, Missouri; dear friend Helen Griffin of Chillicothe, Missouri and faithful dog Delmonte. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and two brothers. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 5 2013, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at May Cemetery, Chula, Missouri.
