Marcus "Tony" Anthony Boyd, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Marcus was born the son of Marcus Monroe and Ruby Juanita (Buffington) Boyd on August 14, 1941, in Blue Mouse, Oklahoma. He was a 1959 graduate of Roland High School, Roland, Oklahoma. Marcus served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1964 until 1966. He was united in marriage to Judy M. Cashatt on April 3, 1964, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She survives of the home. Marcus worked as an electrician for various contractors for many years. He was a member of the Redondo Beach, CA. VFW Post 2828, and was a past member of the Freedom of the Road Riders Local #8. Marcus was an avid motorcyclist who raced Tournament Trophy (TT's) and Flat Track motorcycles around the Midwestern region throughout the 1960's, 70's and 80's. He also enjoyed going on motorcycle trips with Judy and his friends to various places throughout the Country.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Boyd of the home; one daughter, Amanda Hyland and husband Ron of Parkville, Missouri; one son, Marc Boyd and wife Lisa of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Dalton Boyd, Dallas Boyd, Dawson Boyd, and Brianna Hyland; fourteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Randy Boyd of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, Ronny Boyd of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and Monty Boyd of Fort Smith, Arkansas; and two sisters, Patricia Owen and husband Dale of Roland, Oklahoma, and Sandra Harden and husband Pete of Roland, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Joshua Conway.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
