Mamie Lorene Willard

Mamie "Lorene" Willard Mamie "Lorene" Willard, age 94, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2016, at the Baptist Home. Lorene was born the daughter of Earl and Ludy (Cosby) Bennett on January 26, 1922 in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School in 1939 and attended Chillicothe Business College. She was united in marriage to Leroy Willard on December 9, 1944 in Cameron, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1999. She worked as a secretary for Missouri State Vocation Rehabilitation. Lorene was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri, and Dorcus Lydia Circle. She was an RSVP and Chillicothe School volunteer and delivered meals on wheels for many years. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, gardening, playing games and cards. She loved spending time with her grandkids and watching their sporting events. She was an avid Hornet and Royals fan. Survivors include three sons, Gary Willard and wife Terri of Chillicothe, Missouri, Phil Willard and wife Debbie of Chillicothe, Missouri, Ben Willard and wife Annette of Grand Rapids, Michigan; six grandchildren, Alexandria Willard and Jack Willard of Chillicothe, Missouri, Erin Nook and husband Sean of Fort Collins, Colorado, Anna and husband Andrew Morris of Fort Collins, Colorado, Kylie and husband Lance Boehm of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brad and wife Nancy Freyling of Grand Rapids, Michigan; eight great-grandchildren Ruby Nook, Ella Nook, Avery Morris, Zola Boehm, Knox Boehm, Lexi Freyling, Owen Freyling, and Tripp Freyling; three sisters-in-law; Cathryn Bennett, Cleo Willard and Phyllis Capps and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leroy, granddaughter Elizabeth Willard, three brothers Forrest, Paul, and Ray Bennett. Funeral Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, October 10, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, from 12 noon until 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 10, 2016. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
