Mae Louise Cassity Mae Louise Cassity, age 83, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Mae was born the daughter of Willard and Angeline (Etter) Burnett on September 24, 1934, in Grundy County, Missouri. She was a 1952 graduate of Gilman City High School. She made her home in Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1966, when she moved from Trenton, Missouri. Mae was united in marriage to Edward L. Cassity on November 26, 1966, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1994. She worked as a corrections officer for Chillicothe Correctional Facility in Chillicothe, Missouri, for 10 years. Mae was a member of the Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25 Women's Auxiliary, the White Shrine, and the Chillicothe Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 113. Survivors include four sons, Steve Dana and wife Denna of Aurora, Missouri, Bill Dana and wife Kim of Chillicothe, Missouri, Joe Cassity and wife Cori of Kearney, Missouri, and Jim Cassity and wife Patty of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Karen Wood and husband Rick of Chillicothe, Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; one granddaughter, Brittany Dana; and one infant sister, Rosalie Burnett. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, March 9, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, March 8, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
