Lyle E. Dickason, age 71, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Colorado Springs, Colorado, ended his final patrol on Sunday, August 11, 2019, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Lyle was born the son of Don Reno and Mildred (Rorah) Dickason on September 4, 1947, in Oregon, Illinois. He was a 1965 graduate of Bear Creek High School, in Lakewood, Colorado. Lyle was a decorated Vietnam Veteran in the United States Marine Corp. He was a graduate of the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor's degree in History and Wichita State University with a master's degree in Education Administration. Lyle married Donna Ann Moler in October 1969, in Aurora, Colorado, and enjoyed 50 years of marriage. He had a passion for education and served as a teacher, coach, and veteran advocate for many years. Lyle was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He was a member of the Chillicothe Vern R. Glick American Legion Post #25, the Chillicothe Roy L. Burkett VFW Post #858, a lifetime member the Disabled American Veterans, a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans Association, was a Pike's Peak Hill Climb Official, and was a founding member of the Crawford House in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Dickason, of the home; one son, Sean P. Dickason and wife Michelle of Chandler, Arizona, one daughter, Shannon Jordan and husband Dusty of Chillicothe, Missouri; one grandchild, Brittany Brookman and husband Michael; four great grandchildren, Carson, Jaelynne, Zoey, and Ava; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 15, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, August 15, 2019, 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in a United States Veterans Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to LICOVA (Livingston County Veteran's Association) and/or the Crawford House of Colorado Springs and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
