Lucy E Bennett

Lucy E. Bennett, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away Tuesday June 1, 2010 at Morningside Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. She was born on March 29, 1922 the daughter of Kie and Altha (Daugherty) Garber in Rural Hale, Missouri. She was a 1939 graduate of Tina-Avalon High School in Tina, Missouri. On December 3, 1941 she married Carroll E. Bennett in Chillicothe Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 31, 1986. She was a member of the Avalon Methodist Church, United Methodist Womens and Avalon Rebeca Lodge. Lucy is survived by four daughters Betty Snyder and husband Mike of Chillicothe, Missouri, Mary Lou Oertwig and husband Dean of Chillicothe, Missouri, Nancy Haynes of Houston, Texas, and Lois Clark of Chillicothe, Missouri; one brother Harold "Bud" Garber and wife June of Hale, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sons Samuel Reece Bennett and Lonnie Dean Bennett; a daughter Norma Jean Bennett; one brother Nelson Garber and a sister Rosa Condron. Services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. There will be a family visitation on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be in Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Avalon Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
