Louise D. Courtney, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away at the Baptist Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 12, 2011. She was born on July 14, 1918, in Brookfield, Missouri, the daughter of Vernon Charles and Audrey Vivian (Sparks) Moore. She was a 1936 graduate of Mendon High School, and also attended Chillicothe Business College. On June 22, 1941, she was married to Charles Dale Courtney in Laclede, Missouri. He preceded her in death on February 26, 1978. She worked as a Deputy Recorder of Deeds for Livingston County, and Kanan Abstract for many years. Most recently she worked as a bookkeeper for Courtney - Wood Oil. She was a member of the Chillicothe First Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher, GA Leader, and also served on many committees for the First Baptist Church. She also volunteered at the Baptist Home. Survivors include two daughters, Ann and husband Jim Meservey of Chula, Missouri, and Carol and husband Bill Hunziker of Brookfield, Missouri; three sisters-in-law, Doris and husband Lloyd Mossbarger, Cleta Moore, and June Moore; one special cousin B. Stanley; four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Dale; two brothers, Edward Moore, and John Moore; one infant brother; and two nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday before the service at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Monday from 12:00 noon until 9:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Burial will be at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
