Lori Kay Shiflett
Lori Kay Shiflett, age 56, a resident of Meadville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at her residence.
Lori was born the daughter of Jack Lee and Donna Mae (Triplett) Thieme on November 12, 1962, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1981 graduate of Meadville High School. She was united in marriage to James Shiflett on August 15, 1981, in Haseville, Missouri. He survives of the home. Chillicothe Birthright was established in September of 2003, and Lori became the director in 2004. Birthright is a not for profit International Organization. Lori worked closely with the Regional Director and also helped guide the opening of a center in Carrollton, Missouri. Lori's compassion impacted young mothers and the volunteers in the surrounding communities, because of her endless hours and her love for the unborn children. She was a member of Cornerstone Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, where she was active in helping the children and youth, as well as with bible school. Lori helped with the Meadville FFA Greenhouse program. She loved gardening, arranging flowers, and anything to do with greenhouses.
Survivors include her husband, James Shiflett, of the home; one son, Nick Shiflett and wife Tiffany of Meadville, Missouri; one daughter, Natalie Jarboe and husband Will of Meadville, Missouri; mother, Donna Thieme of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Gauge and Gavin Shiflett of Meadville, Missouri, and Rylan and Aiden Jarboe of Meadville, Missouri; two brothers, Richard "Rich" Thieme and wife Jeannie of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Lin Thieme of Meadville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, January 18, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Cornerstone Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Parson Creek Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Meadville FFA Greenhouse Program and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
