Loretta Ruth Dennis, age 84, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
Loretta was born the daughter of Jack Murray and Edna Ruth (Woods) Noe on June 17, 1937, in Dalhart, Texas. She was a 1956 graduate of Pleasant Hope High School. She was united in marriage to Joe E. Dennis on March 29, 1957, in Odessa, Missouri. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2000. Loretta worked as secretary and treasurer at Longwood Furnace in Chillicothe, Missouri, for over 20 years. She was a member of Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for many years. Loretta enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include three sons, Mike Dennis and wife Debbie of St. Joseph, Missouri, Timothy Dennis of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Curtis Dennis and fiancé Emma Singletary of Pearl River, Louisiana; one daughter, Lisa Albin and husband Randy of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Michael J. Noe and wife Phyllis of Odessa, Missouri; and five sisters, Pat Tunnell of Odessa, Missouri, Becky Brown and husband Jack of Branson, Missouri, Cindy Moore and husband Monty of Branson, Missouri, Lindy Rivers and husband Alex of Odessa, Missouri, and Jennifer Goodnight of Odessa, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe; and one grandson, Tyler Scott Dennis.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, October 7, 2021, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
