Lois A. Nichols, age 88, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, a resident of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Hopedale Cottage, Ozark, Missouri.
Lois was born the daughter of James and Rosie M. (Kerns) Jennings on April 12, 1933, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a graduate of Chillicothe High School. On July 14, 1949, Lois was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Nichols, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1985. Lois owned and operated Buttons and Bows Children's Clothing Store in Chillicothe for many years. She also worked at Walmart as a sales clerk for several years. Lois was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri.
Survivors include two sons, Eddie Nichols and wife Beverly of Austin, Texas, and Steven Nichols and wife Jewel of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kimberly Darity, Kris Nichols, Brandon Nichols, and Matthew Nichols; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; infant son. Gary Wayne Nichols; two brothers, Bill and Gene Jennings; and two sisters, Dixie Thomas and Marilyn Nichols.
Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
