Lois Jean Duckworth
Lois Jean Duckworth, age 91, a Chillicothe, Missouri, resident passed away, Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Lois was born the daughter of Emery Lois and Mildred Leota (Snyder) Ishmael on August 2, 1930, on a farm near Purdin, Missouri, in rural Linn County. Lois was a 1948 graduate of Galt High School, Galt, Missouri and graduated from North Central Missouri College, Trenton, Missouri. Lois was united in marriage to James E. Duckworth on July 2, 1951, in Laredo, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2008. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri where she was active in the Young at Heart Club. She was a volunteer of the Grand River Historical Society Museum, Meals on Wheels, helped with the Chamber of Commerce, American Legion, Livingston County 4-H, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Woodmen of the World.
She is survived by two sons, Jerry Duckworth and wife, Joan, of Lee's Summit , Missouri, and Kenneth Duckworth and wife, Vicky, of Chula, Missouri; two daughters, Deborah Sue Hess of Southern Pines, North Carolina and Linda Kay Peterson and husband, Jim, of Columbia, Missouri; three brothers, Lowell Ishmael and wife, Rosie, of Kansas City, Kansas, Rex Ishmael and wife, Pat, of Charleston, South Carolina and Wendell Ishmael and wife, Marilyn, of Kansas City, Kansas; one sister, Joyce Stimpson of Laredo, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James; her son-in-law, Merle Hess; and grandson, Ethan Cole Hess.
Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri.
