Lloyd Elgin Hicks Lloyd Elgin Hicks, age 81, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2014, in Wheeling, Missouri. Lloyd was born the son of Elgin and Frances Carrie (Rice) Hicks on January 1, 1933, in Meadville, Missouri. He was a 1951 Meadville High School graduate. Lloyd served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Mildred Sanson on September 4, 1955, in Wheeling, Missouri. She survives of the home. Lloyd worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Wheeling Baptist Church. Survivors include wife Mildred Hicks, of the home; two sons, David William Hicks and wife Diane of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Dennis Lloyd Hicks and wife Marce of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter Tammy Lynn McElliott and husband Russ of Leawood, Kansas; two sisters, Dorothy Dillamon of Oklahoma and Sharan Brown of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter Sally Jolene, and sister, Shirley DeVaul. Memorial services will be held at the Wheeling Baptist Church, Wheeling, Missouri, on Saturday, April 5, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, April 3, 2014, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wheeling Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
