Lizabeth "Libby" Gail Mead Lizabeth "Libby" Gail Mead, age 58, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, formerly of Dawn, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014, at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, under the care of St. Luke's Hospice. Lizabeth was born the youngest of three daughters to Neal and Virginia (Johnson) Mead on September 2, 1955, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She attended the Peter Pan Center, State Training Center, and the Livingston County Development Center. Libby worked as a volunteer at Indian Hills Retirement Village, Livingston Manor Care Center, and Francine's Pastry Parlor. After her mother's death in 2007, she lived seven happy years in an ISL home with one housemate, Norma Holliday under the supervision of Kirksville Regional Center and the wonderful 24 hour a day staff from Community Options. Libby enriched our lives. She taught us by example to take one day at a time, trust, enjoy the moment, and never worry. We will miss the hugs, the ready smile, unconditional love, and innocence. She was a member of the Dawn Baptist Church, Dawn, Missouri. She was also a member of the YMCA. Libby loved hugging, tickling, and making people smile. She also loved music, kittens, pigs, and bowling events with the Special Olympics. Survivors include two sisters, Sharon Moorshead and husband Gary of Lee's Summit, Missouri, and Marilyn Huskey and husband Pete of Jamesport, Missouri; one niece, Annette Moorshead of Overland Park, Kansas; one nephew, David Moorshead of Rockville, Maryland; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one nephew, Aaron Moorshead. Funeral services will be held at the Dawn Baptist Church, Dawn, Missouri, on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Dawn Baptist Church, Dawn, Missouri, on Sunday, April 13, 2014, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Blue Mound Cemetery, Blue Mound, Missouri.
