Linda Sue Smith Linda Sue Smith, age 70, a resident of Wheeling, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018, at her residence. Linda was born the daughter of Harold Ray "Jiggs" and Carla Alice (Breeden) Warren on March 18, 1948, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1966 graduate of Wheeling High School, where she was an avid basketball and volleyball player. She enjoyed playing those sports in her adult life as well. She was united in marriage to Ray Smith on December 23, 1989, in Independence, Missouri. He survives of the home. Linda worked for Citizens Bank and Trust, Chillicothe, Missouri. She also worked as an office manager for Burns & McDonald, then as secretary to the president at Andrew Corp, and then was a case worker for the State of Missouri Department of Social Services, before moving on as an investigator for Homeland Security, from which she retired. She was also a part-time realtor during her last two jobs. After her retirement, she moved back to Wheeling to care for her mother and father. Linda was an artist, and loved art. Survivors include her husband, Ray, of the home; father, Harold "Jiggs" Warren of Wheeling, Missouri; two sons, Jason Smith and wife Leigh of Lawrence, Kansas, and Joshua Smith and wife Elizabeth of Overland Park, Kansas; one grandson, Gunner Smith; two brothers, Larry Warren and wife Sue of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Robert "Bob" Warren and wife Jennifer of Jefferson City, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lou Warren of St. Joseph, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, September 6, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri.
