Leo Louis Myers, age 88, a resident of Overland Park, Kansas, former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away at Greenwood Terrace, Lenexa, Kansas on Sunday, March 7, 2010. He was born on August 30, 1921 in Portageville, Missouri the son of Hal and Eleanor E. (Knueven) Myers. He was a 1939 graduate of Portageville, Missouri. On May 16, 1945 he married Rosemary Catherine Englert in Chillicothe, Missouri. She preceded him in death in August 13, 1995. Leo served in the United States Navy from 1941 until 1947 as an Aviation Mechanic. He was employed as a mail carrier by the United States Postal Service, also by the Missouri Department of Transportation, and a farmer. He was a member of the St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri. He loved fishing, hunting, and wood crafting. Survivors include three sons, Jody Myers and wife Marilyn of Leawood, Kansas, H. Phillip Myers and wife Mary of The Villages, Florida, John Myers and wife Judith of Orrick, Missouri; one daughter, Rose Ann Potter and husband Robert; two sisters, Mary Ellen Byrd of Punta Gorda, Florida, Stella Hickerson of West Virginia; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosemary; one brother, William Myers; one grandson, Clayton John Myers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Missouri on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Parish Rosary on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. with a family visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
