Leland LaVerne Reeter
Leland LaVerne Reeter, age 77, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at his residence.
Leland was born the son of Ollie Raymond and Iva Marie (Akers) Reeter on August 7, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1961 graduate of Chillicothe High School. Leland was united in marriage to Jo Ann Watkins on October 6, 1963 in Chillicothe, Missouri. Leland was an extremely hard worker and was blessed with the ability to be a laborer and a truck driver for several employers over the years. Some of those included Midland Brick & Tile Company, Churchill Truck Lines, Roadway Truck Lines, Modine, and finally retired from Dickerson Tool & Engineering. He was a member of Chillicothe United Methodist Church, the Chillicothe Friendship Masonic Lodge #89 AF & AM, and the Moila Shriners. Leland enjoyed gardening, working around the yard, and tinkering on various projects, and most of all spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors include his wife Jo Ann of the home; one daughter, Kelli Simmer and husband Shawn of Chillicothe, Missouri; one son Brent Reeter and wife Rhonda of Chillicothe, Missouri; eleven grandkids, Trevor Bell, Michaela Koon and husband Dustin, Jozie Banman and husband Nick, Taylar Simmer, Gracy Reeter, Kade Simmer, Lucy Reeter, Samuel Reeter, Charlie Reeter, Benjamin Reeter and MaryAnn Reeter. He is also survived by one brother, Larry Reeter and wife Pat of Chillicothe, Missouri; brother-in-law, Ronald Dean Walker of Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lola McNally.
Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, May 16, 2021, from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
