Lee Herman Kraft
Lee Herman Kraft, age 92, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.
Lee was born the son of Carl and Matilda (Popp) Kraft on December 22, 1925, in Hodgeman County, Kansas, near Beeler, Kansas. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1944 until 1963, serving three tours of duty in the Asiatic Pacific Theater, participating in combat at Iwo Jima during World War II, and in Korea during the Korean War. After retiring from the United States Marine Corps, he worked as a manager of both public and private warehouses in Kansas City, Missouri, retiring on November 30, 1990. Lee was united in marriage to Thelma Dee Maggart on November 5, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri. She preceded him in death in 2008. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Lee enjoyed gardening, and visiting with friends at the Grand River Multi-Purpose Center.
Survivors include one son, Jerrel Kraft and wife Debbie of Kimberling City, Missouri; two daughters, Diane Krumm and husband Tom of Shawnee, Kansas, and Denise Catalano and husband Peter of Kansas City, Missouri; three stepchildren, Linda Morgan of Oak Grove, Missouri, Max Gooch and wife Marjorie of Browning, Missouri, and Kevin Gooch of Kirksville, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister, Erlene Knox of Clifton, Kansas; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; two sons, Charles Edward Kraft and Lee H. Kraft, Jr.; one granddaughter, Kristee Burchfield; and three brothers, Clarence Kraft, Elden Kraft, and Leonard Kraft.
Funeral services will be held at the Browning Methodist Church, Browning, Missouri, on Friday, December 7, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Browning Methodist Church, Browning, Missouri, on Friday, December 7, 2018, one hour prior to the service at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be held at White Oak Cemetery, Browning, Missouri.
