Lawrence Raymond Ginther, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri since 1945, passed away at The Baptist Home on Sunday, March 14, 2010. He was born on May 25, 1914, the son of Albert E. and Eva May (Patterson) Ginther at the family home in rural Meadville. On June 6, 1943 in Chillicothe, Missouri, he married Margaret Thompson. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2002. Lawrence was employed by Montgomery Ward for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe, Missouri, where he served as a deacon. Lawrence had been living at the Baptist Home in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was an original donor to the drive to build the Baptist Home campus in Chillicothe. He is survived by one son, David Ginther and wife Julie of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Jeanette Fuhr and husband Leo of Clinton, Missouri, Peggy Rush and husband Ernest of Stilwell, Kansas; seven grandchildren, Amy Rush Howard and husband Bob, of Cleaveland, Missouri, E. J. Rush of Mesa, Arizona, Jessica Rush Derr, and husband David, of Overland Park, Kansas, Brian Fuhr of Lawrence, Kansas, Brenda Fuhr, Warrensburg, Missouri, Kathryn Ginther and Claire Ginther of Dallas, Texas and five great grandchildren , Rosemary, Anthony, Adeline and Isabelle Derr of Overland Park, Kansas, and Audrey Rush of Cleveland, Missouri; one nephew Carroll Surber of Chillicothe, one niece Lois Surber Buckman, of Marceline; several great nieces and great nephews in the area. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Albert Ginther; two sisters, Alberta Surber and Louella Surber. Services will be at the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. A family visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Botts Cemetery, Meadville, Missouri, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the North Missouri Baptist Home or Botts Cemetery and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
