Larry Leon Gilpin Larry Leon Gilpin, age 67, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Larry was born the son of Lawrence and Zelma (Taylor) Gilpin on June 24, 1947, in Springfield, Missouri. He was a 1965 graduate of Grand Pass High School, Grand Pass, Missouri. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, earning a Purple Heart and Air Medal. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the NRA. He was also a very active member of the First Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Survivors include one son, Chris Gilpin of Independence, Missouri; three grandchildren, Caitlin, Rachel, and Rebecca Gilpin; and two brothers, Doug Gilpin and wife Theresa of Holt, Missouri, and Terry Gilpin of Holt, Missouri. He is also survived by two nieces, Elisha Herndon and Geneine Rust. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services will be held at Swan Lake Memorial Park, 30000 East Valor Drive, Grain Valley, Missouri, 64029, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Swan Lake Memorial Park, Grain Valley, Missouri, on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
