Landon "Lanny" Warren Estes Landon "Lanny" Warren Estes, age 62, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015, at his residence. Lanny was reunited with his beloved wife, Patricia, who preceded him in death on December 25, 2012. Lanny was born the son of Leland and Gladys (Kincaid) Estes on September 20, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a 1970 graduate of Climax Springs High School, Climax Springs, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Patricia Maurer on June 25, 1971, at the Free Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri. Landon was a self-motivate, hardworking man who believed in himself and his family. He had a strong will to teach his children and grandchildren values and self-discipline of life and love for family. Landon possessed a very strong sense of right or wrong. He was a devoted family man. Landon spent a lot of time with his grandchildren. He loved riding horses with them. He was a fun person to be around. He worked for the Kansas City Stockyards for 20 years. In 1986, he became and auctioneer. Landon and his wife shared a strong passion for several years. In 1990, Landon and his family moved to Chillicothe. In 1996, he joined the Carpenters Union for Walton Construction, where he retired from in 2010. Since 2012, Lanny worked for the Chillicothe R-II School District as a custodian. He enjoyed being around children. In October of 2014, he retired due to his illness. Lanny was a member of the Light House Chapel Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Survivors include two sons, Shawn Estes and wife Diane of Utica, Missouri, and Paul Estes of Utica, Missouri; one daughter, Marie Kitchin and husband Chris, of Chillicothe, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Austin Estes, Jesse Estes, Garrett Estes, Colton Estes, Cody Estes, Josie Estes, Kristofer Kitchin, and Landra Kitchin; two great grandchildren, Olivea and Timber Estes; two brothers, Rob Raney and Frank Raney both of Raytown, Missouri; and one sister, Leann Estes of Phoenix, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; and infant daughter, Sarah Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held at the Light House Chapel Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 5, 2015, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, January 5, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Hospice and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
