Kenneth E. Shirley, age 75, a resident of Ludlow, Missouri, passed away at Livingston Manor Care Center, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, May 17, 2010. He was born on July 14, 1934, the son of Ira Charles and Nadine (Agee) Shirley in Bogard, Missouri. On October 30, 1957, he married Frances Dewey in Waverly, Missouri. She preceded him in death. He worked for Green Quarries in Carrollton, Missouri for several years and then Midland Brick and Title and Chillicothe Bootery. Kenneth enjoyed gardening and watching sports. He is survived by two sons Mark Shirley of Oregon, Missouri and Roger Shirley of Ludlow, Missouri; two daughters Terry Bailey and husband David of Wheeling, Missouri, Sherri Lewis of Dawn, Missouri; seven sisters Juanita Buckbee and Mary Shirley both of Harrisonville, Missouri, Phyllis Clift of Tulsa Oklahoma, Charldine Safly and Barbara Fisher both of Carrollton, Missouri, Faye Genrich of Carbondale, Colorado and Pat Maycock of Waverly, Missouri; five grandchildren Bryce Shirley of Chillicothe, Missouri, Sara Shirley of Oregon, Missouri, Justin Lewis and Briana Lewis of Dawn, Missouri and Holly Leakey of Oregon, Missouri; two great grandchildren Kendra and Megan Leakey of Oregon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Jim and Bill Shirley. Services will be at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday May 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. There will be a scheduled family visitation on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri. Friends may call after 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. until services on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wheeling Cemetery, Wheeling, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenneth Shirley Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
