Kenneth “Kenny” Levi McBee, age 75, a resident of Braymer, Missouri, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at his home surrounded by family. He was born the son of Arthur Levi and Dora Elizabeth (Fitzwater) McBee on May 4, 1949 in Braymer, Missouri. He was a 1967 graduate of Braymer High School. He was united in marriage to Karen Jean Fairchild on December 23, 1966. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2008.
Kenny was a member of the Braymer Christian Church. He was a Case Manager at Western Missouri Correctional Center, Cameron, Missouri for 21 years, retiring in 2009. Prior to his career in corrections, he served as a Funeral Director for Pitts Funeral Home, serving the community that he loved. He was a Pastor at the Kingston Christian Church for several years and also enjoyed filling the pulpit at several small community churches. Kenny did not know a stranger. His favorite pastime was cruising the streets of Braymer in his “pace” car and waving to everyone in the community. Most of all, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family, that he loved so much.
Kenny is survived by one son, Kenneth Christopher “Chris” McBee and his wife Victoria Dianne of Cameron, Missouri; two daughters, Kimberly Dawn “Kim” Daugherty and her husband Randy of Kearney, Missouri and Rebecca Ann “Becky” Lindley and her husband Daniel of Norborne, Missouri; eight grandchildren, James Spencer Daugherty (Amanda), Erica Danielle Smith (Jordan), Connor Vance Daugherty (Jadie), Lindsey Dianne Tullos (Clay), Lauren Evelyn McBee, Leah Elizabeth McBee, Joshua Nathan Lindley and Caleb Nathan Lindley; eight great-grandchildren, Easton Dean Smith, Jase Jordan Smith, Peyton Vance Smith, Selah Grace Smith, Valerie James Daugherty, Vada Rae Daugherty, Taytum Jean Tullos and Tyler Christopher Tullos (due in August); three brothers, Carl McBee (Marsha) of Gallatin, Missouri, Ed McBee of Braymer, and Dennis McBee (Sonya) of Mooresville, Missouri; and one sister, Janice Venneman of Meadville, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen; his parents; step-father, Merton Eaton; one brother, Jim McBee and two sisters, Judy Shoop and Liz Leabo.
Funeral services will be held at the Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Braymer Christian Church, Braymer, Missouri, on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friends may call on Monday, April 14, 2025 from 9:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Lindley Pitts Funeral Home, Braymer, Missouri.
