Kenneth "Kenny" Earl Rogers
Kenneth "Kenny" Earl Rogers, age 95, a resident of Cameron, Missouri, a former resident of Cowgill, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the Missouri Veterans Home, Cameron, Missouri.
Kenny was born the son of Noah Absalom and Alice Pearl (Moothart) Rogers on August 1, 1924, in Cowgill, Missouri. He was a 1943 graduate of Cowgill High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1943 until 1963, serving in World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. Kenny was united in marriage to Elaine Chatam. To this union, two children were born. He was then united in marriage to Katherine Evelyn Witt on May 3, 1969, in Kansas City, Missouri. She survives of the home. He worked for the Army Corps of Engineers during the 1970's until June of 1986. He also worked for the United States Department of Defense in Kansas City, Missouri, for many years. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Kearney, Missouri. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Cowgill, Missouri.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Rogers of Gladstone, Missouri; two sons, Kenneth S. Rogers and wife Joyce of Springfield, Missouri, and Kyle E. Rogers and wife Debra of Chicago, Illinois; two daughters, Kathleen Bell of Kinneville, Indiana, and Kimberly A. Rogers and significant other Gary Brauer of Overland Park, Kansas; seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harry and Wilmer Rogers; and one sister, Nadine Lundmark.
Funeral services will be held at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas, on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Thursday, July 23, 2020, from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Cowgill Cemetery (for upkeep and maintenance at the cemetery) and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
