Kathryne "Katie" Cole

Kathryne "Katie" Cole Kathryne "Katie" Cole, age 91, a resident of Plano Texas, former 56 year resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012, at her residence. Katie was born the daughter of Loren and Gertrude (Mahoney) Monson on August 24, 1921, in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was a 1929 graduate of Field Kindley High School, Coffeyville, Kansas. She then attended Chillicothe Business School. She was united in marriage to Alvin "Jerry" Cole, Jr. on August 17, 1940, in Sedalia, Missouri. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1972. Katie worked as an accountant for Harden, Cummins, Moss, and Miller for many years. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Juckette Management Services, Inc. She was a Charter member of the Chillicothe Genealogy Association, a lifelong member of the Eastern Star, served as a volunteer Ombudsman at Livingston Manor Care Center, volunteered as a tax preparer at the Chillicothe Senior Citizens Center, and volunteered as a worked at the Chillicothe Thrift Store. She was a member of the Chillicothe United Methodist Church, and the Chillicothe Free Methodist Church. Survivors include one son, Michael Cole and wife Noel of Mountain Home, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Candi Hollingsed and husband Paul of Dallas, Texas, Kimberly Kline and husband Mike of Richardson, Texas, Adam "Epic" Cole, Major, USAF of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Jeremy Cole of Bentonville, Arkansas; five great grandchildren, Daxton, Ethan, and Eliza Kline of Richardson, Texas, Jack Hollingsed of Dallas, Texas, and Autumn Cole of Bentonville, Arkansas; and one daughter-in-law, Andrea Cole of Desoto, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerry; and one son, Alvin "Jim" Cole, Lt. Col.,USAF Retired. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 28, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, December 28, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
