Karen Sue Stephens
Karen Sue Stephens, age 68, a resident of Hale, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Morningside Center, in Chillicothe, Missouri.
Karen was born the daughter of Melvin and Bernadine (Crowe) Singleton on September 17, 1955, in Chillicothe, Missouri. She was a 1973 graduate of Hale High School. She also attended Chillicothe Vo-Tech. Karen was united in marriage to Lloyd D. Stephens on July 7, 1973, at the United Methodist Church in Hale, Missouri. He survives of the home. She worked as a secretary for 21 years for Livingston County Division of Family Services, she also worked for Carl’s Menswear.
Karen was a member of the Hale Sunshine Neighbors Club, she was the last member of the club. She enjoyed being a 4-H leader and helping her husband raise hogs on the farm. The lights of her life were her six grandchildren. She loved nothing more than spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd; two sons, Dennis Scott Stephens, wife, Jennifer and children, Tyler and Kamryn, of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Eric Clint Stephens, wife, Holly and children, Ella and Eli, of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter, Michelle Dawn Jones, husband Chris, and children, Jenna and Jaxsen, of Earlham, Iowa; one sister, Sharon Arr, and husband Leroy, of Chillicothe, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Bernadine Singleton.
Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, Missouri, on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at Lindley Funeral Home, Hale, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
