Karen Kay Howerton, age 68, a resident of Mooresville, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri.
Karen was born Sept 20, 1953 to George Burton and Suetta Fern (Sprinkle) Waterman.  On April 28, 1972, she was united in marriage to Larry Howerton, in Breckenridge, Missouri. He survives of the home. Karen was a long term employee of Midwest Glove Factory, and enjoyed yard work, gardening, animals (especially cats), and her grandchildren. Karen's grandchildren will forever remember their Meme's countless stories, marble races, morning coffee, and late night popcorn and ice cream. She attended the Mooresville Christian Church, Mooresville, Missouri.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Howerton of the home; two daughters, Tabitha Searcy and husband Jeremy of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Tracy Cruse and husband John of Wheeling, Missouri; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren; one sister, Dianna Harkins of Chillicothe, Missouri; and special niece and nephew, Ashley Chadwick and Matt Gaunt. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren Megan Ishmael, Auston and Triston Searcy; and siblings Larry, Chuck, Dale, and Teresa.
A celebration of life will be held at the Mooresville Christian Church, Mooresville, Missouri, on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. There is no scheduled visitation.
