Karen Elizabeth Arthaud Karen Elizabeth Arthaud, age 62, a resident of Chula, Missouri, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016, at Wright Memorial Hospital, Trenton, Missouri. Karen was born the daughter of Richard Arthur and Patricia (Waterman) Alger on July 3, 1953, in Georgetown, Virginia. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education. She was united in marriage to Jerold Loren Arthaud on March 20, 1982, in Deerfield, Illinois. He survives of the home. Karen worked as a home teacher for many years, and home schooled all five of their children. She was a member of the Home School Association. Karen was an advocate for cancer awareness. Survivors include her husband, Jerold of the home; three sons, Benjamin David Arthaud of Chillicothe, Missouri, Matthew Joel Arthaud and wife Kara of Trenton, Missouri, and Jonathan Michael Arthaud and fiancé Bethany Ireland of St. Joseph, Missouri; two daughters, Rachel Ruth Geiger and husband Nathan of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Elizabeth "Betsy" Danielle Garcia and husband Stephen of Chillicothe, Missouri; four grandchildren, Elisha Arthaud, Eisley Arthaud, Caleb Sides, and Alexis Sides; mother, Patricia Alger of Deep River, Connecticut; two brothers, Daniel Alger of West Bend, Wisconsin, and Steve Alger of Miller, Missouri; and one sister, Patricia Alger of Deep River, Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her father; and one brother, Peter Alger. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 6, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 5, 2016, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Inurnment will be held at St. Columban's Catholic Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
