June Rose Alger Thompson, age 95, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. June was born the daughter of Allan and Martha (Miller) Alger on June 17, 1920, in Lorain, Ohio. She was a 1938 graduate of Lorain High School. After graduation she attended the Willcox School of Commerce, graduating in 1940. June was united in marriage to Charles W. "Buck" Thompson on February 7, 1944, in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island, Washington and then moved to Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1999. She worked as a secretary for Milbank Mills for 23 years. June was a member of the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, and a former member of the Delaware Avenue Methodist Church in Lorain, Ohio. She was also a member of the Grand River Audubon Society, the Chillicothe Area Arts Council, Grand River Historical Society and the Rusty Hinges at the YMCA. Survivors include four sons, Allan Thompson and wife Karen of Raytown, Missouri, Bill Thompson and wife Julia of Ashland, Missouri, Mark Thompson and wife Valerie of St. Cloud, Florida, and Kris Thompson of Lincoln, Nebraska; one daughter, Marilyn Farmer and husband Glen of Raytown, Missouri; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Eugene Alger and wife Hanna of Berkley, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buck; one son, Don Thompson; and one brother, Neil Alger. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. A scheduled family visitation will be held at the United Methodist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, November 24, 2015, one hour prior to the service at 12 noon. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, November 23, 2015, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
