Judy Carol Steinman, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, a former resident of Norborne, Missouri, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at StoneBridge Senior Living, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Judy was born the daughter of Rex Girdner and Mary Genevieve (Dillamon) Mitchell on March 3, 1944, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee George. To this union three sons were born, George, Tod, and Randy George. She was then united in marriage to John Patrick Steinman, and gained two stepdaughters, Jody and Tamie, whom she enjoyed helping raise. Judy owned and operated Clay Creations in Carrollton, Missouri, for many years. She later owned and operated Selective Stitching, where she made medical scrubs and uniforms for many people. Judy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Norborne, Missouri.
Survivors include three sons, Tod George of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Randy George of Blue Springs, Missouri, and Curtis George of Edwards, Missouri; two stepdaughters, Jody (Steinman) Johnson of Kansas City Missouri, and Tamie (Steinman) Stewart of Kansas City, Missouri; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Rex “Junior” Mitchell of Meadville, Missouri, and Marvin Mitchell of Conway, Missouri; and one sister, Phyllis O’Bryan of Liberty, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Raymond Mitchell.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Avalon Cemetery, Avalon, Missouri, at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Curtis George and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601.
