Judith Ann Cassity, age 78, a resident Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Judith Ann Lionberger was born to F.A. (Mossy) and Chloe Juanita (Lewis) Lionberger on April 8, 1943 at the Chillicothe Hospital. She attended Chillicothe public schools, graduating in 1961.  She was always proud to have been President of the National Honor Society and to have received the Senior DAR Good Citizenship Award.  She received an Associate of Arts degree from Stephens College, and Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Home Economics at the University of Missouri, Columbia.
In 1967 she married Robert M. Kuhnert, Lt., US Air Force.  They lived in Phoenix, AZ; Denver, CO, Biloxi, MS; Wichita Falls, TX; and Aurora, CO.   In 1975 she returned to Chillicothe and began her career as a Children's Service Worker at Division of Family Services, a job she held for twenty-five years.  In 1979 she married Frank J. Cassity.  They enjoyed traveling and returned often to their favorite places, including Estes Park, CO; Biloxi, MS; and Sedona, AZ.
Judy was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She was a creative person who loved cooking, home decorating, needlework and flowers.  She was very fond of pets and had two very special cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank Cassity.  She is survived by her sisters Jody (Dick) Lyons, Longmont, CO; Jackie Damiani, Edmond, OK;  her brother, Jim (Donna) Lionberger, Longmont, CO; nephew Trey (Maia) Lyons, great nephews, Teddy and Lewie Lyons, Vienna, Austria;  niece, Annie (Bill) Knapp, great niece, Ellie Knapp, Arlington, VA; nephew, John Damiani, Oklahoma City, OK., nephew, Drew ( Gretchen) Lionberger, Istanbul, Turkey; and niece, Erin Lionberger, Frederick, CO. She is also survived by her good friends Ruth Ann Steele, Lois Turner, and other family and friends who helped her during her illness.
Cremation was held. No services are scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Forest O. Triplett Animal Shelter and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 47, Chillicothe, Missouri 64601. Online condolences may be made at www.lindleyfuneralhomes.com .
