Juanita M. Shafer Juanita M. Shafer, age 79, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas.   Juanita was born the daughter of Rollie and Edna (Akers) Reeter on February 26, 1938, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to James L. Shafer on June 29, 1956, in Livingston County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on December 11, 2015. Juanita worked as a homemaker and childcare provider for many years. She was a member of the Cavalry Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri. Juanita enjoyed crafts and her dog, "Buddy".   Juanita is survived by one son, J.D. Shafer and wife Kristy of Chillicothe, Missouri; two brothers, Richard Reeter and wife Helen and Delbert Reeter and wife Joyce of Chillicothe, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, James L. Shafer; one sister, Wanda Hesler; and one brother-in-law, Donald Hesler.   Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. There is no scheduled family visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 12 noon until 8:00 p.m. Burial will be at the Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
