Joyce Ann Laffey Joyce Ann Laffey, age 79, resident of St. Joseph, Missouri, former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Mosaic Life Care Center, St. Joseph, Missouri. Joyce was born the daughter of Ole R. and Florence (Oldham) Parker on February 10, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She was united in marriage to Fred Nelson Laffey on June 22, 1958, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2015. Joyce was a member of the Wyatt Park Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Missouri, and was very strong in her faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, plants, birds, reading, mystery movies, classical music, and cruising up and down Belt Highway in St. Joseph. Her favorite color was purple. Joyce loved visiting with her friends and family. She enjoyed receiving visits from her granddogs. Joyce loved traveling with Fred, especially their trip to Israel. Joyce is survived by one son, Mitchell Laffey, of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Michelle Lechner and husband Ernie of Union, Nebraska, Melissa Huff and husband Tim, of Smithville, Missouri, Kasha Laffey, of St. Joseph, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Shain Laffey and wife Megan, Alyssa Walsh and husband Joe, Drew Lechner, Blake Lechner, Adam Wood, Aaron Huff and wife Britni, Khalisa Huff and Nykolas Laffey; three great grandchildren, Savannah Wood, Marlowe Walsh, and Liliana Huff; and one sister, Micki Benz Conway, of Joplin, Missouri. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Martin Laffey. Funeral services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. A scheduled visitation will be held at the Wyatt Park Baptist Church, St. Joseph, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri.
