Joyce Maurine Dowell Joyce Maurine Dowell, age 80, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2012, at Quail Run Health Care Center, Cameron, Missouri. Joyce was born the daughter of Chester and Doris (Adkison) Thompson on October 7, 1931, in Livingston County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Virgil Dowell on January 25, 1949, in Livingston County, Missouri. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2000. She was a member of the Highview Baptist Church, Chillicothe, Missouri, and the Royal Neighbors. Survivors include two daughters, Martha King and husband Larry of Chillicothe, Missouri, Linda Bush and Richard Martin of Marceline, Missouri; one son Richard D. Dowell and Vernita Riley of Kearney, Missouri; nine grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; one brother Donald Thompson and wife Ethel of Chillicothe, Missouri; one sister-in-law Diane Dockstader of Brunswick, Missouri; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Virgil; son David Dowell; brother Robert Thompson. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, February 18, 2012, one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Friends may call the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Friday, February 17, 2012, from 12 noon until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Brassfield Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
