Josephine "Jo" Eliza Grush

Josephine Eliza (Harris) Grush, age 96, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Hedrick Medical Center, Chillicothe, Missouri. Jo was born in Salem, Nebraska, on January, 25, 1915, the daughter of Joseph Shelton and Lydia Gayle (Hiatt) Harris. On April 12, 1936, she married Donald Roy Grush in Falls City, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1991. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Chillicothe, where she served as the organist for many years. She was a member of the Culture Club, Kiwanis, and the Chillicothe Bridge Club. Survivors include her children, Linda Gayle Tirrell and husband Melvin Gene of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Donald Joseph Grush and wife Kathy of Chillicothe, Missouri; grandchildren James Raymond Tolen of Tyler, Texas, Jamie Cunningham and husband Chris of Chillicothe, Missouri, Amanda Pounds and husband Roy of Sedalia, Missouri, and Scott Hoehns and wife Jenny of Norman, Oklahoma; and great granddaughter Emili Boston. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Richard Dean Harris. Funeral services will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. A family visitation will be held at Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Monday, March 14, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friends may call the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri.
