Josephine "Jo" Baker

Josephine "Jo" Baker   Josephine "Jo" Baker, age 85, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Morning Side Center Chillicothe, Missouri.   "Jo" was born the daughter of Clyde and Ellen (Shannon) Burton on February 20, 1932 in Dean Lake, Missouri . She attended Chillcothe High School. On April 9, 1949 "Jo" was united in marriage to Buel "Tuffy" Baker in Chillicothe, Missouri. He preceded her in death on december 14, 1989. "Jo" worked as a teachers aide for the Chillicthe R-II school district for 20 years. In her retirement she worked as the Activities Director at Indian Hills Retirement Village. She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, traveling and spending time with friends and family. Josephine especially enjoyed living in chillicothe and going to sporting events of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Jo" was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.   Survivors include; three sons Leland "Bub" Baker and wife Joyce of Chillicothe, Missouri David Baker and wife Cindy of Chillicothe, Missouri, Chris Baker and wife Amy of Chillicothe, Missouri; one daughter Brenda Block and husband Ed of Chillicothe, Missouri. She is also survived by one brother Nolan Burton and wife Louise of Chillicothe, Missouri, eight grandchildren Lisa Frizzell and husband Stuart of Kearney, Missouri, Steve Tutt and wife Nancy of Platte City, Missouri, Will Block and wife Sarah of Chillicothe, Missouri, Jeff Baker and wife Eva of Hamilton, Missouri , Lesley McAdams of Chillicothe, Missouri, Austin Baker and wife Lauren of Kansas City, Missouri Jaimie Backhaus and husband Alex of Warrensburg, Missouri and Shannon Baker of Overland Park, Kansas, and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Buel and one sister Dorothy McCracken.   Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Chillicothe, Missouri on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. A family visitation will be held on Friday November 3, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillcothe, Missouri. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home Chillicothe, Missouri on Friday from Noon until 8:00 P.M. Burial Will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens Chillicothe, Missouri.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home P.O.
