Joseph A. Walker, DVM
Joseph A. Walker, DVM, age 87, a resident of Liberty, Missouri, a former resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Liberty Hospital, Liberty, Missouri.
Joseph was born the son of Owen and Ruth (Bradford) Walker on September 6, 1934, in Chillicothe, Missouri. He was a 1952 graduate of Chillicothe High School. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until 1957, during the Korean War. Joseph attended the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, and then his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. He was united in marriage to Shirley Tomlinson in September of 1986, in Las Vegas, Nevada. She preceded him in death on January 19, 2009. Joseph worked as a Veterinarian for over 33 years. He enjoyed golfing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Michael Walker and wife Tami of The Villages, Florida, Allen J. Walker  of  Moberly, Missouri, and William "Carlin" Walker and wife Leslie of Liberty, Missouri; one daughter, Lori Anne Turner and husband Douglas of Annapolis, Maryland; eleven grandchildren, Joseph Walker, Tiffany Allen and husband Daniel, Emillee Hall and husband Adam, Brooklyn Brown and husband Aaron, Courtney Constant and husband J.W., Zachary Walker and wife Tyna, Bailey Hays and husband Andrew, Kyle Walker, Brianna Walker, Nathan Walker and wife Julie, and Maria Rose Turner; twenty-five great grandchildren, Joey, Giovanni, Caleb, and Jessica Walker, Isiah and Mia Lee, Elias and Easton Allen, Logan Hayworth, Rider and Maci Hall, Peyton Moritz, Elijah, Annabelle, and Weston Constant, Alikai, Kale, Leia, and Matilda Walker, Millie, Hattie, Piper, and Sawyer Hays, and Lillian and Owen Walker; one brother, David Walker and wife Sandra of Chillicothe, Missouri; and one sister, Marilyn Rhoades and husband Rex of Liberty, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marinelle Walker; and second wife, Shirley Walker.
Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Sunday, December 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. There is no scheduled visitation. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chillicothe FFA and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
