Joseph Raymond Stough, age 88, a resident of Chillicothe, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Indian Hills - A Stonebridge Community, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Joseph was born the son of Charles L. and Opal Elizabeth (Burroughs) Stough on December 29, 1932, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a 1950 graduate of Steelville High School, Steelville, Missouri. Joseph served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955, during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Joan Rey McDowell on January 15, 1956, in St. Joseph, Missouri. She preceded him in death on May 7, 2010. Joseph worked as a farmer. He was a member of the Grace Episcopal Church, Chillicothe, Missouri.
Survivors include one son, Mike Stough of Olathe, Kansas; two daughters, Julie Resor and husband Mike of Chillicothe, Missouri, and Janet Kinsella and husband Larry of Grant City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Robert Stough, Kathleen Stough, Joe Resor, Maggie Resor, Dylan Kinsella, and Drake Kinsella. He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Joan Stough.
Private family services will be held at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Wednesday, February, 10, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe, Missouri, on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, from noon until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be held at Edgewood Cemetery, Chillicothe, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society or the American Diabetes Association and may be left at or mailed to Lindley Funeral Home, P.O.
